24th of March - My Winter of Discontent

24th of March - My Winter of Discontent

King Solomon famously wrote ‘For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven’ Ecclesiastes 3:1 (NIV).

We have been exploring the seasons of life here on our blog and one season we can find ourselves in is 'My Winter of discontent'.

There is a lot to love about winter when we embrace it. However for some of us it is a time of great discontent. Some of us endure winter desperate for the spring that is around the corner.
You will know you’re in this season if you are constantly anxious, constantly exhausted and depressed by your life’s circumstances. Life is busy and the demands on you are overwhelming. The kids want more of you then you have to give, the boss is expecting your best and you feel empty, your partner seems to be struggling as much as you and you feel less and less like lovers and more like business partners in raising the family.

If this is you there’s good news. The fix is as simple as ‘embracing your season’. Not excited about this fix, relax its better than you think and you can read more in Rev'd Stu's book 'Embrace Your Season' ... grab your copy here http://stuartpwebb.com/

"Learning to embrace the season we live in is the key to finding great purpose and peace" Rev Stuart P. Webb

If we are honest with ourselves then our lives are complicated and sometimes messy, and that's the way it's suppose to be. Complicated and beautifully messy is different to saying it's out of control or ugly. It's in the beautifully messy that we find richness, it's in the complicated that we find meaning.

Throughout our lives we experience different seasons and learning to embrace the season we live in is the key to finding great purpose and peace even in turbulent times. Most of us struggle with our lives because we don't understand our season and spend all our energy either just trying to survive it or escape it. So are you thriving or just surviving?

Why is it that we know what we should do yet still we don't do it?
This is a tough question to ponder.

Are we willing to sacrifice short term pleasure and comfort and instead embrace short-term pain, anxiety and suffering in order to achieve the magnificent ministry God has called us to do? Will the need for expediency, fear or the avoidance of pain continue to rob us of Gods heavenly purpose for our lives? Do these thoughts make you feel challenged, maybe even a bit uncomfortable?

Rev'd Stu explores these ideas and provides honest and uplifting Bible-based guidance in his book Embrace Your Season, which is available online at http://stuartpwebb.com/
